InfoSurfer - Features

InfoSurfer does not use the conventional method of selecting data by browsing through database tables and fields. Instead, the user searches through simple English descriptions that clearly describe what each field in the database represents.  We call this feature 'Data Surfing'.

All data descriptions are organized into categories.

The Contents tab shows all categories available.

Selecting a category displays all the data descriptions that are contained within that category.

By searching through data descriptions, rather than the database itself, a user can create and view reports without even knowing what a database is, where it is, or what is in it.

Other great features include:

  • Users do not work with SQL, links or databases
  • Public library shares reports with all InfoSurfer users
  • Preview window, watch your report being built automatically
  • Compare several reports side by side in report view
  • Information is located intuitively by Topics and categories
  • Two types of report display; spreadsheet and report view
  • User groups and security groups
  • Report scheduling.
